Scanner is no more...

Well, I knew this day would come, I am surprised it took so long, but I have officially been asked by Newaygo County to remove this scanner from the internet. Thanks everyone for the support over the past year with this project, it was a great project for me and my employer and we learned a lot about internet streaming and used what we learned here on many other projects.

Do not bother to ask questions about who asked it to be taken down or anything, that is between me and the requesting county official.

The final stats of the scanner site where:
Donations to date: $0.00
Average Listeners per day: 12
Number of users when it was turned off: 6
Visitors coming from: (some of the largest users) comcast.net, ncats.net, gmhs.org, sbcglobal.net, countyofnewaygo.com

Eventually this may be re-purposed to amateur radio monitoring or something else. If anyone has any ideas they would like to see, let me know.

All of the information you need to program your own MPSCS scanner can be found on the radio reference website at www.radioreference.com My personal favorite scanner for MPSCS monitoring is the Uniden BCD396 or the Radio Shack Pro96.

This camera is located at the same site as the scanner broadcast server installed on the top of the tower where the scanner antenna is located. This is a live view of Fremont, MI.
